A great summing up, Don! Just a couple of small additions. I really enjoyed seeing the globulars through Don's Cave, particularly when he used the 25 mm orthoscopic on M 22. It really looked like dozens of little diamonds and now I can more easily imagine the premise of Isaac Asimov's short story "Nightfall". Roger's Obsession gave me my first view of the Veil nebula and it was something to behold in all its strands. "Palpable" seems the best description.

As for Don's kind words about the Intes Micro 603, it may have been the dark sky that made it seem to draw out globulars better than a good 4" refractor. Would love to see a comparison (and maybe I could call on the expertise of the group's collimators. The Intes' double star/planetary performance isn't what it should be.)

Just a couple of practical observations about the site: Despite the locations overgrown cover, I didn't have a problem with ticks, mosquitoes or what have you. (Maybe that was because of Roder's sharing his "bug spray" with Don and me.) LOOKOUT FOR THE GOATS. Very friendly little critters but they did a number on my windshield (scrapping it). You will want to monitor the situation closely until you get any climbable vehicle inside the inner gate (presumably beyond their reach.) And oh yes, we had a visit by a friendly skunk. Fortunately we reached a modus vivendi.
